Meet Jacqueline Prescott.

Q: What High School do you attend?

A: Edmund Burke Academy.

Please tell us about your current plans after high school and what inspired you to choose this path? In the fall, I plan to attend Augusta University majoring in financial services. After getting my degree, I plan to become a financial adviser. My grandfather was a mastermind with making and saving money, and it inspired me to help others manage their money as he did.

Please tell us a little bit about your family. I come from a very close knit family with two lovely parents, two older brothers, and a little sister. My father, Jody Prescott, is the proud own of a ranch where both my brothers work, and my mother, Melinda Prescott, is a first grade teacher at Waynesboro Primary School.

Q: What are couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: A couple of my favorite restaurants around our community are Pizza Joint and Farmhaus.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: The most interesting person I’ve met in our community is my teacher, Mrs. Reeves. She has hundreds of stories that make her lectures quite exciting. I could sit and talk with her for hours because she also gives the best advice.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: If I could travel anywhere in the world right now, I would take my mom on a European tour because she has always wanted to go to Europe, and I am always down for a trip somewhere new.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: One of my favorite movies is Beauty and the Beast, and I do not watch any TV shows.

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: The best advice I have ever received from a teacher was from my college algebra teacher, Mr. Rice. He wrote “F.E.A.R” on the board one day and asked what that word meant. He later explained that fear stands for “false evidence appearing real” and fear does not come from the man upstairs but the enemy himself.

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: When I can’t decide what to listen to, I usually put on choose playlists from musicals, such as The Greatest Showman and Mama Mia.

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?

A: I’d choose to have lunch with my second grade teacher, Mrs.Mitchell. I’d love to catch up with her over a picnic at the Savannah River Rapids.

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?

A: Evans Town Center Park is one of my favorite spots in the community.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: In five year, I see myself with my undergraduates degree in financial services, a real estate license, and beginning my masters degree in finance. In ten years, I plan to be working as a successful financial adviser as well as started a family.

Q: What show are you binge-watching right now?

A: I prefer spending my time other ways than binge watching.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: My favorite month of the year is May because school is getting out, and vacation is beginning. My favorite holiday is Easter because it is a reminder that Jesus lives. The best single day of the year is my birthday.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My parents inspire me to become the best me and push me to always do my best. They continue to inspire me everyday to be a better person.

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career, what is one thing you would do differently?

A: If I could go back, I would go back to March 17th which was the day we got released from school and began learning from home. I would spend that day taking the time to thank and hug my teachers.

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: More than anything, I miss baseball season.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: The first thing I want to do when quarantine is over is take a vacation with my family and best friend.
