Haylee Moore

Hey everyone. My name is Haylee and I love teaching, reading, going to the movies, and playing with my dog.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband, Michael, and I recently got married in July of 2020. We also have a mini schnauzer named Nala. We all love going on walks together.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I am currently a teacher for Belair K-8. This is my second year of teaching and I recently got STEM certified. I love getting to know each one of my students and teaching them new things. When their faces light up because they understood something they did not before, it brings me so much joy.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
I love Mexican food, so Habaneros is the place Michael and I go to get the best Texas Rice. We also like going to Koi Hibachi & Sushi for great Japanese food.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived here for 17 years and worked in the community for 3 years.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I have met in the community is Leland Victor Brissie (Lou Brissie).

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would love to travel to New Zealand. New Zealand has amazing scenery and culture. I am also a huge Lord of the Rings and Hobbit fan and want to visit Hobbiton.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
I have a favorite movie for each genre. I could watch the following movies on repeat; Iron Man, Hobbit: Unexpected Journey, Hunger Games Catching Fire, and Princess Diaries. My favorite TV shows are Friends, M*A*S*H, and The Office.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
My advice would be to have patience in everything they do. God will be with you in everything you do in your life. Ephesians 4:2

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
The number one thing on my bucket list is traveling to New Zealand and going to Hobbiton.

Q: What is your go to band when you cant decide what to listen to?
I don’t care for any bands, but my go to soundtrack is “The Greatest Showman.”

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
The current local business that makes me the most nostalgic is the Putt Putt fun Center. I loved going their with my Diddy and playing mini golf and watching the trains go by.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would love to go to lunch with Robert Downey Jr. We would meet at Habaneros. I would like to talk about the making of the Marvel movies he was in.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing to do in the community is go to the Evans Cinemas. I love going to the theatre to see new movies on the big screen.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
In five to ten years, I will still be teaching. I probably will have one or two kids and another mini schnauzer named Kuzco (we love the movie The Emperor’s New Groove).

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Most people don’t know that I am a movie buff, love anything to do with Marvel and DC comics, and love going to Broadway Musicals.

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The most beautiful place I have been to was in Banos, Ecuador. I got to zip land over a huge gorge with a waterfall. That was the most thrilling thing I have ever done.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
Favorite month is November. Favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. Best single day on the calendar is July 18, 2020, on that day I married my best friend.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I would rate mini schnauzers a 10 out of 10. Schnauzers do not shed and are great snugglers.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My husband inspires me to be better. He is always by my side and lifts me up when I am down.

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
My two favorite smells are movie theater popcorn and chicken nachos.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
God, family, and dogs.
