Meet Naomi Owusu.
Q: What High School do you attend?
Please tell us about your current plans after high school and what inspired you to choose this path? After high school I will be attending the University of South Carolina-Aiken to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Being a nurse has always been a passion of mine from a very young age and I have always enjoyed helping people and seeing people’s smiling faces.
Please tell us a little bit about your family. My parents are from Ghana a country in West Africa . I have a twin sister and 2 older brothers.
Q: What are couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
A: My favorite restaurants in the community are Chick-fil-A, Zaxby’s, and Red Lobster.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
A: If I could travel anywhere in the world right now, it would be Ghana because I miss my family and my grandma.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: My favorite movie is The Hate U Give and my favorite TV show is All American.
Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?
A: The best advice I have ever received from a teacher would be my 10th grade Geometry teacher he always told me “Take chances in life and never wait till the last minute to do something”.
Q: What is your go to band / singer when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: Jhené Aiko.
Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?
A: I would love to have lunch with Michelle Obama because she has always empowered many young girls to accomplish their goals and to get a good education . We would meet locally at Olive Garden.
Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?
A: Something unique about this community that I love is that you can always find very close friends to connect with.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: In 5 to 10 years I see myself being a successful nurse and having a family.
Q: What show are you binge-watching right now?
A: I’m binge watching a show called All American.
Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: Favorite month is October and favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.
Q: Who inspires you to be better?
A: My mom inspires me to be better.
Q: If you could go back over your entire school career, what is one thing you would do differently?
A: To not procrastinate on assignments.
Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?
A: I miss my grandma.
Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?
A: Hang out with my best friends.
