Meet Anita Conley, National Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Please tell us a little bit about your family. I’m a single mother with three children Jacob is 22 and a senior at Georgia Southern. Lucas is 19 and enrolled in real estate school. Lauren is 11 and a 5th grader at Stevens creek elementary. We also have a shitzu named Oreo who is 9.
Please tell us about your current career. Thing you love most about what you do. I’m a senior National Sales Director with Mary Kay. I love helping women feel more confident by looking their best. I also love helping women find their calling and purpose as an entrepreneur
Q: What inspired you or led you to your current career?
A: The desire to stay at home with my children. I left a career in education so that I could work at home.
Q: What is your favorite restaurant in Evans, and what do you love there?
A: Tako Sushi, Manuel’s, Sole, The Pizza Joint.
Q: How long have you lived or worked in Evans?
A: 20 years.
Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in Evans?
A: That’s hard to name just one because all people are interesting in their own way and have their own story to tell when you sit down and listen to them.
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?
A: Alaska as I’m supposed to go on a cruise there in May and of course it’s up in the air right now.
Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
A: I love Home Alone, I watch House Hunters and HGTV if I watch TV at all.
Q: What advice would you give a crowd of people?
A: Find something you love to do and give it your best effort for one full year with no distractions.
Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A: Go to Paris.
Q: What is your go to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
A: Luke Bryan.
Q: What current / former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Evans?
A: Fat Man’s, Pizza Joint, lights of the south , wildwood.
Q: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative with whom would you love to have lunch? Why and where would you have lunch?
A: John Maxwell, wherever he would meet me I wouldn’t eat. I would want to take notes.
Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about Evans?
A: It’s a small town with enough things to do. Everyone is friendly.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years?
A: I would like to downsize and add a lake or beach home for recreation and as a future retirement home.
Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: That I have a degree in Biology and was a science teacher.
Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
A: The Amalfi coast in Italy, Maui and Santorini. Those are my top 3.
Q: If you were cast in a movie and could choose your costar, who would it be?
A: Matthew McConaughey.
Q: What is your favorite month? holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
A: Love April and spring And the Christmas holidays.

A: Vanilla and cinnamon.
