Stacey Arrington

Meet Stacey Arrington, Dental Hygienist…

Gerilyn: What inspired you or led you to your current career?

Stacey: I’m a dental hygienist, and I had an interest in working with people and helping them. Going through the medical field with different ideas, I chose dental hygiene.

Gerilyn: What is your favorite restaurant in Evans, and what do you love there?

Stacey: My favorite restaurant in Evans would have to be Takosushi, and I get their Unforgettable Roll.

Gerilyn: How long have you lived or worked in Evans?

Stacey: I lived in the Evans area for 25 years and have been going to Mosaic for about 12 years.

Gerilyn: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in Evans? Who would you like to see nominated as a Face of Evans, Georgia?

Stacey: I would have to say, I think the most interesting person I’ve met here in Evans is Rick Sholette. He is a Christian counselor with Paraclete Ministries, and he has been my counselor for the past five to six years. He has been tremendously helpful in my life. I would nominate him, and I think he would be great.

Gerilyn: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be? And why?

Stacey: I’d go to Europe because I want to learn about the history and cultures of the different countries in Europe and also experience the food.

Gerilyn: What is your favorite movie, or what is the first movie you remember seeing in a theatre?

Stacey: I can give you both. My favorite movie would have to be The Count of Monte Cristo, and Selena is the first movie I remember seeing in a theatre.

Gerilyn: What advice would you give to a crowd of people?

Stacey: I would encourage them in some way. Depending on the crowd, I would encourage them with the use of the Bible. I would just encourage them.

Gerilyn: What is something on your bucket list?

Stacey: To travel through Europe.

Gerilyn: What is your favorite music or three bands you would like to see, whether dead or alive?

Stacey: I would love to have seen Queen when Freddie Mercury was still alive. Adele has an awesome voice, so I would like to see her. And, I love Phil Wickham. He’s an awesome worship leader. I actually have seen Phil Wickham, and he was amazing. I would love to see him again.

Gerilyn: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about Evans?

Stacey: Burger King, because it was on the corner of Washington Road and Old Evans Road. When I was a kid, we hardly ever went out to eat because my mom cooked a lot. The times that we went, we would literally drive the back way up to Burger King and order. It was exciting because we never went out to eat.

Gerilyn: Choosing anyone alive and a non-relative: with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? Where in Evans would you go?

Stacey: I would love to have lunch with Gregory Boyd. He is a pastor of a church in Minnesota. I admire his depth of knowledge and his thinking when it comes to theology and just life in general. Where would we have lunch? Well, Gregory Boyd is a vegetarian, so we’ll have to get a meal that’s vegetarian. We could go to Farmhouse, and Takosushi has a vegetarian option. There are different places in Evans where you can get a vegetarian option.

Gerilyn: Where do you see yourself in five or ten years?

Stacey: I see myself healthier in multiple areas of life. I see myself married. I want to do more research. I see myself creating a ministry. I need to do a broader search because I’m not quite sure where my heart is leaning. Going back to wanting to help people, I’m open to different areas of ministry. I’m still praying for God’s guidance and for Him to open doors because it’s something I’ve been praying about for quite some time now. It’s a continued search. I’m looking for a good fit.

Gerilyn: Even for friends or family, what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?

Stacey: I’ve done a lot of personal growth work, and my relationship with the Lord has gotten deeper in the past five to six years. I’ve been looking in different places and gaining my own understanding. With God’s guidance, I’ve been creating a deeper depth in that relationship.

Gerilyn: What three words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word “home?”

Stacey: Jesus, family, and being connected.
