Meet Katy Cliatt.

Q: What High School do you attend?

A: Evans High School.

Please tell us about your current plans after high school and what inspired you to choose this path? I will attend Georgia Southern University in the fall and major in Nursing. My healthcare teachers at EHS along with my family members working in the medical field inspired me to pursue nursing.

Please tell us a little bit about your family. I live with my mom, dad, sister and brother. My mom is an administrator at Evans High School, my dad owns and runs Augusta Telephone, my sister will graduate from Georgia Tech in May and attend law school at the University of Florida in the fall, and my brother is in eighth grade and plays baseball and basketball at school, along with travel ball in the off season.

Q: What are couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?

A: My favorites are Rhinehart’s, Toki, and Monterrey.

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?

A: There are so many to chose from, but one of the most interesting is my photography and graphics teacher at EHS, Katie Harris.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?

A: If I could travel anywhere it would be Italy, because I was supposed to go there this May with my grandmother and sister.

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?

A: My favorite movie is Mama Mia, and my favorites TV shows are Friends and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Q: What’s the best advice you ever received from a teacher? Who was the teacher?

A: The best advice I’ve received from a teacher is “to always have a positive mental attitude and a growth mindset” from my 9th Grade English teacher, Mrs. Patterson.

Q: What is your go to band / singer when you cant decide what to listen to?

A: I like all types of music, but my favorites are The Weeknd and Thomas Rhett.

Q: If you could choose anyone to have lunch with, who would you choose? Why? And where, locally, would you meet for this lunch?

A: I would want to have lunch with Jennie Finch, because growing up she was a big inspiration to me as a softball player and a female athlete.

Q: What is your favorite thing about our community?

A: My favorite thing about our community is that no matter how much it grows, it feels like a small town in the sense that everyone seems to know each other.

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?

A: In 5 to 10 years I see myself as a ER/ Trauma nurse at one of our local hospitals.

Q: What show are you binge-watching right now?

A: I am binge watching Veronica Mars with my family right now.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?

A: My favorite month is October, my favorite holiday is Christmas, and the best single day on the calendar is any day in June or July.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?

A: My parents inspire me to be the best and kindest person I can be.

Q: If you could go back over your entire school career, what is one thing you would do differently?

A: My senior year was my favorite year yet, so I wouldn’t want to do anything differently. But I would want to go back to my softball season and just take it all in one last time.

Q: Who or what do you miss the most right now?

A: I miss my friends, teachers, classmates, and family so much right now.

Q: What’s the first thing you want to do when this quarantine is over?

A: The first thing I will do after quarantine is go to the lake or pool with my friends.
