I am a fun-loving, sports-watching woman who loves Jesus! I enjoy reading, being in the outdoors, especially in the fall, watching movies, and spending time with my family.

Q: Please tell us a little bit about your family.
My husband, Donald and I have been married for nearly 27 years, and we have one son, Devin, who is a senior this year at Augusta Preparatory Day School.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do?
I have THE BEST JOB! I teach 3rd grade at Augusta Prep! It’s so wonderful, it does not feel like a job. Because I get to work with great people who I also consider my friends, it makes my job very fulfilling.

Q: What are a couple of your favorite restaurants in our community?
Two of my favorite restaurants are Bodega Ultima and Kyoto’s.

Q: How long have you lived or worked in our community?
I have lived in Augusta/Martinez my whole life!

Q: Who is the most interesting person you’ve met here in our community?
The most interesting person I have met in our community is Kris Key.

Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world right now, where would it be and why?
I would travel to the Grand Canyon because I have always wanted to go there and visit that part of the country. It looks beautiful!

Q: What is one of your favorite movies? TV shows?
One of my favorite movies is Wonder Woman, and one of my favorite TV shows is FBI.

Q: What advice would you give to people?
Forgive others and love one another.

Q: What is something on your bucket list?
A couple of my bucket list items is going to Hawaii and riding in a hot air balloon.

Q: What is your go-to band when you can’t decide what to listen to?
When I can’t decide what to listen to, I don’t have a go to band, but I love Contemporary Christian Music.

Q: What current or former local business makes you the most nostalgic about our community?
Duke’s Restaurant makes me nostalgic about the community.

Q: If you could choose anyone that is alive today and not a relative; with whom would you love to have lunch? Why? And where locally would y’all meet for this lunch?
I would choose to have lunch with Clare Hooks. She and I went to Augusta University to get our Masters Degrees together. I miss her because she moved to Metter, GA a few years ago and she is now pregnant! We would have to have lunch at Oliviana’s.

Q: What is your favorite thing or something unique about our community?
My favorite thing and something unique about our community is the Masters Tournament. I love that people come from all around the world to our city! I think that is super cool!

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years?
I see myself teaching more kiddos!! It is a big part of my life!

Q: (Even for friends or family), what is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
Most people do not know that I used to dance! I tap danced for about 15 years and I also belly danced for about 10 years!

Q: What is the most beautiful place you have ever been?
The most beautiful place I have ever been are the mountains of North Georgia in the fall.

Q: Favorite month? favorite holiday? and best single day on the calendar?
My favorite month is November, my favorite holiday is Christmas, and the best single day on the calendar is March 6th. It’s my son’s birthday.

Q: What would you rate a 10 out of 10?
I would rate being a mom a 10 out of 10.

Q: Who inspires you to be better?
My parents and my friends inspire me to be better. I don’t know what kind of mess I would be without them! 🙂

Q: What is one or two of your favorite smells?
A couple of my favorite smells are Vanilla and men’s Polo cologne.

Q: Finally, what 3 words or phrases come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
Three words that come to mind when I think of HOME is Faith, Hope and Love.
